Our favourite makeup routine for the no-makeup look
With summer right around the corner and the weather heating up, no one wants to be wearing a full face of makeup that's bound to slide straight off! Instead, we've listed the perfect way to achieve the 'no makeup, makeup' look, that leaves you with beautifully even & fresh looking skin, without the under-eye dark circles on full show!
Step 1: Prep your skin
Exfoliating is amazing for clearing away sweat, dead skin cells and excess oil, leaving fresh, smooth skin beneath. We recommend Kate Somerville Exfoliating Treatment - available in our GLOWD Edit
Step 2: Moisturise
One of the most crucial steps for healthy, plump and hydrated looking skin, is Moisturiser. In the summertime, we recommend using a lightweight formula, something water or gel based, rather than a heavier oil based cream.
Step 3: Prime
Primer will help control oils on your face throughout the day, and will also ensure that any small amount of makeup that you do apply, won't slide off. We recommend MILK Makeup Hydro Grip Primer.
Step 4: SPF
One of the most important parts of this routine, is of course SPF. Although SPF should actually be worn at all times outdoors, even when the sun isn't shining, it's extremely important to include this in your summer 'no makeup makeup' look, to protect you from the sun's rays.
Step 5: Concealer/Tinted Moisturiser
A full-face of heavy makeup is likely to suffer from walking around in 30-degree weather with sticky, stuffy humidity. All the smudges, smears, and sweat, gross!
Lighten up your routine by reaching for only what you need, such as concealer to cover shadows and spots. With the tip of your finger, dab a creamy concealer beneath your eyes and on problem areas. We recommend NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
If you want a little more coverage on your face, we recommend sticking with a tinted moisturiser. We recommend IT Cosmetics CC Cream (this even has SPF50!)
