This month we were fortunate enough to quiz the founders of the brands showcased in this months box. Specifically about their daily lifestyle routines and must have skincare products.

We asked Kate what inspired her to create her brand, her skincare must-haves and what her advice would be to other females when looking to branch out into business. Here's what she had to say:

What inspired you to create your brand? 

“I grew up with eczema, so from a young age, I knew what it felt like to be uncomfortable in my own skin. This sparked my passion for helping others. And because I had a natural interest in skincare, a good friend of mine who was a dermatologist suggested I get a degree in aesthetics, which I did. After several years working alongside some of the world’s top dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons, I decided it was time to do my own thing. I helped pioneer paramedical aesthetics when I opened my own Skin Health Experts Clinic on Melrose place in 2004 and decided to innovate with my own product line so people could heal their skin and see results at home.”

What’s your morning / night routine?

What does a day in your life look like?

“I always start my day with a coffee and green smoothie before getting stuck into work and I love to finish my day off with a walk and sauna”. 

 

What is your ‘desert island’ product you couldn't live without?

“Peptide K8. If someone was like, you’re on an island, so you have sand, so you can exfoliate, I would need my Peptide K8. I should look a lot older than I do, and I really feel like using those peptides for so long has kept my skin in really good shape. And I don’t have many wrinkles. I’m definitely losing elasticity, but the wrinkle part, I don’t have, and I, I’ve been really consistent with peptides, and Peptide K8. I’ve used it for over 10 years now. It’s so gentle too, so it’s this anti-ager, but it’s not going to irritate, like vitamin C or retinol or that kind of thing. I feel like it’s just fed my skin.”

 

What piece of advice have you received that has been impactful to your skincare journey / business?

"For beauty or any industry, you’re interested in, have the courage to take the path. When there is a 'no' or a slammed door go the other way, don’t give up. Keep going. There are so many incredibly successful people who failed before they made it."
